THE LODGE/CAMP:
The 22 canvas tents are raised from the ground, and each has a spacious deck overlooking the river, a large en suite bathroom and an outdoor shower. While there are more tents here than in other camps, it retains a peaceful atmosphere and feels private.
ROOMS:
The spacious bathrooms, divided from the bedroom area by a tent flap, feature a wooden washstand with double steel washbasins, wooden storage shelves and towel rails, and a conventional flush toilet. Through a flap at the back of the tent, beyond the main bathroom area, is the outdoor shower and bathtub, fully screened for privacy but completely open to the sky. Toiletries are provided in refillable glass flasks.
QUICK INSIGHTS:
They are located on the bank of the Mara River, which is spectacular.
Throughout the day, elephants, giraffes, zebras and impalas come for a drink while a large hippo pod rests lazily in the river.
The Camp gives a feeling of the early 1920’s era with beautiful and comfortable furniture.
