THE LODGE/CAMP:
Three Meru-style tents comprise the small, no-frills main area of Sanctuary – a bar, dining tent and lounge. Although simple structures, the tents are luxuriously decorated with billowing fabric ceilings and white table linens. There are comfortable sofas and ottomans, some choice photographs and a few space heaters for chilly evenings. Outdoors is a brightly cushioned seating area with cosy blankets, and meals are served under cover or at private tables scattered at various viewpoints. The food? Delicious and plentiful.
ROOMS:
The camp offers ten classic safari tents - each with its en-suite bathroom. The tents also feature hairdryers and plug points and a small sitting area in front of each of the tents where early morning coffee and biscuits can be enjoyed before starting the day of incredible game viewing. The main shared areas include a dining area, bar area and lounge area, and comfortable sofas placed in specially-selected locations around the camp.
QUICK INSIGHTS:
This is a superlative area, truly world-renowned for game viewing and predation. However, it's also notorious as a top-rated safari destination. There's no way around this reality than choosing to stay in a small tented camp that allows privacy and reprieve from the fray.
