Pick up from Arusha/Moshi and drive to Marangu gate. Mandara Hut trek is a short one-day hike of Mount Kilimanjaro for those who don't have the time to climb the summit. The hike starts from the Marangu gate and takes about 3 to 4 hours to reach the Mandara hut, 2700m above sea level. The route we take is called the "Coco-Cola route" and is 1860m above sea level. As we reach the Mandara hut, giving a beautiful view of the Mawenzi and Kibo Peaks, we take a short walk to the rim of Maundi Crater. Enjoying the view, we have our picnic lunch and start our descent. After this scenic and thrilling hike of Mt Kilimanjaro, we head back to Moshi/Arusha in the evening.
